Fact Checking Policy
🕵️ Fact-Checking Policy
a) ReviewDear is fully committed to providing accurate and trustworthy information in all of its published content. We follow a multi-layered verification process—scrutinizing claims with skepticism, questioning assumptions, and challenging conventional perspectives.
b) Our primary objective is to ensure “due accuracy” in every piece of published content. This is the foundation of our reputation and the trust our readers place in us. “Due” means that the level of accuracy must be appropriate to the subject and nature of the content, with any limitations or constraints that may affect accuracy clearly disclosed.
c) Accordingly, all our content must be well-sourced, based on available evidence, and properly verified, depending on its type and context. We are transparent about what we do not know and avoid making speculative or unfounded claims.
d) Our journalists never engage in intentional plagiarism, nor do they distort facts or context—whether in text or visual formats.
e) We seek independent verification of claims, information, and allegations—especially when they are made by public figures or individuals with potential motives beyond merely reporting facts. Any claim that cannot be independently verified is clearly attributed to its original source.
f) ReviewDear stands by the accuracy of the content it publishes. However, if any information is found to be incorrect, we promptly update or correct it. We never deliberately mislead our readers or present fabricated or distorted material that could undermine public trust. We acknowledge significant errors and correct them promptly, transparently, and appropriately.
g) Readers are encouraged to report any factual errors or inaccuracies through our ‘Suggest A Correction’ section, which is available at the bottom of every published web story.
h) Our journalists are primarily responsible for reporting, writing, and fact-checking stories. Each article is reviewed by one or more editors. ReviewDear follows a multi-tier fact-checking system, especially for stories that require extra caution. The seniority of the reviewing editors depends on the complexity, sensitivity, and time constraints of the story.
✍ Correction Policy
ReviewDear.com strives continuously for excellence and accuracy, but we acknowledge that human errors may occasionally occur. When they do, we take full responsibility and act quickly to ensure the incorrect information does not spread. We uphold transparency so that all parties involved can trust the integrity of our content.
➤ Guidelines for Readers:
If a reader notices an error, they should immediately contact the Editor-in-Chief, Emilee Wentland, directly via:
📧 Email: [email protected]
📌 Subject Line: Correction Needed
Please note: A correction is not officially submitted unless it is sent directly to the Editor-in-Chief. Corrections sent to other ReviewDear.com staff may not be addressed in a timely manner or at all.
If sending via email or postal mail, please include the following details:
- Title and date of the article (or issue number) where the error occurred
- Where the article was seen (print, website, etc.)
- The reader’s name and a contact number or email address
- The correct information and, if possible, a credible source supporting it
Example: If a student senate vote count was incorrect, please provide the official meeting minutes as evidence.
The Editor-in-Chief will respond and may request additional information for clarification. Please note that submitting a correction request guarantees that the matter will be investigated, but not necessarily that a correction will be published.
➤ ReviewDear.com’s Internal Process:
Once the Editor-in-Chief is informed of a potential error, they will begin a review using all available sources—such as the reader’s message, reporter’s notes or recordings, official documents, and other evidence.
If an error is confirmed, corrections will be issued across all relevant formats:
📰 Print Version:
A correction will be printed on page 2A in the next available issue, clearly stating the article title, the original error, and the correct information.
🌐 ReviewDear.com Website:
The article will be updated and an Editor’s Note will be added at the bottom, explaining the correction and the date it was made.
📱 Social Media:
If the article was shared on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, or others controlled by ReviewDear.com, a post will be published linking to the corrected version and explaining the correction made.
After making the correction, the Editor-in-Chief will follow up with the reader who submitted the report, informing them of the actions taken to correct the mistake.
